Very few people actually believe that there are actually consequences for their ill or negative actions and this includes what they think, as well as what they do. "Reaping what you sow", is merely cause and effect at work and expecting any more than that is truly absurd. And realistically any 'thing' that we want to manifest is accomplished through something referred to as synergy. Synergy is defined as effectively combined components working congruently and simultaneously to achieve something positive in a more efficient, effectual and expedient manner. And when it comes to your mind/body connection this law is undeviating. What your body can achieve depends on what your mind can conceive. This principle is likened to a camera. Whatever the lens captures, the film produces. You wouldn't expect a photo of something that was not captured by the lens...now would you?

The body can only conjure up (achieve) a potential that the mind can imagine (conceive). The mind is designed to perform as a command center and the body serves as the production department. When the mind is strong and integral, the body will obey. When the mind is creative, the body will create accordingly.

If the reverse is indoctrinated, inability sets in. When the mind is weak and overwhelmed, the body takes over and commands the mind. Consequently, at the slightest hint of difficulty and pain, the body wants to give up and so it communicates to the mind that it can do no more and subsequently it does indeed give up.

In such cases the mind can do nothing except agree with the fussy, finicky body and quit. When the body doesn't feel like doing anything--like, when you feel lazy and any excuse will do to not get out of bed and function--and the mind is too weak to oppose that, you have a case of body over mind. And from that abnormal scenario will flow an equally abnormal life. All elements and issues in life will grow and evolve from that, and you will inevitably emerge a total wreck. Dysfunctional!

The head (or mind) must to be always on top and act as the captain of the body, and this means the body must obey the mind always. This should at all times be unwavering, but for most people the opposite is true. So many people ask, "What if the mind is also a wreck and commands the body to remain dormant?" This scenario is often mistaken as a lazy mind commanding the body into idleness. Many experts say a healthy mind actually always chooses a positive course of action, never inaction. When the mind seems to work otherwise, it is proof of a subverted mind controlled by a cosseted, indulged body. It thinks (conceives) negatively and unproductively precisely because the body has taught and controlled it to do so accordingly.

Undoubtedly, the mind can be strengthened by training it to make decisions the body will obey. If you adopt a life principle, make sure everything you do is based on it. The mind decides what is right and the body is given practical things to do in relation to it. It is truly that simple!

Once the mind decides something the body is unwilling to do, a tug-of-war starts. It is in such conflict that the body must be disciplined to succumb to the mind. If this is accomplished, the mind is strengthened and given authority over the body, which is trained to respond positively to such authority. The person becomes "highly principled." As this goes on, the mind is promoted to heights never before imagined, and dares (and is encouraged) to go beyond its limits, tugging the body along the way. The body does what it is told to do. So the body begins to outdo itself as the mind imagines it to be doing so.

When the head (the mind) is put in its rightful place of authority over the body, limitless potentials break out of hiding and release the ace, the champion in all of us. You can indeed be this person, but effort is required and execution of that effort must be continually employed.

It is virtually impossible to describe all types of available ones in this short article. We will focus our attention on most popular and widely used camera types instead.

CCTV security cameras produce images using CMOS or CCD (Charge Couple Device) chips. Tiny, very low price CCTV cameras usually use CMOS technology, produce poor quality images and have very poor light sensitivity. Decent quality CCTV cameras use CCD technology. The size of the CCD chip is normally 1/4", 1/3" or 1/2". As a rule of thumb, the larger the size, the higher the quality of the image produced and the higher the price. However, higher density 1/4" and 1/3" CCD chips can now produce as good an image as many 1/3" or 1/2" chips.

The number of TV lines in the security camera image is a measure of picture resolution (sharpness). The larger the number of TV lines, the better the resolution and hence, overall picture quality. Standard resolution camera may have 350-380 lines, over 400 TV Lines is generally considered good resolution while over 500 TV lines is considered high resolution. B/W chip cameras produce greater resolution and better light sensitivity, therefore suitable for use in dark areas where light conditions are poor most of the time.

On the other hand color cameras offer more realistic and natural picture. CCTV cameras are usually divided into different types based on the body of the camera used.

Professional grade cameras.

Have box type body with the ability to use different types and size of lenses. Exchangeable lenses enable this camera, to monitor objects from virtually any distance. Although for indoor use, they can be used for outdoor when combined with weatherproof housing. They are considered to be the most flexible and widely used by professionals for commercial installations.

Bullet cameras.

Bullet cameras are, as the name suggest contained inside bullet shaped housing.

Most bullet cameras are weatherproof and sealed without the ability to use different lenses. Great advantage of bullet camera is the small size and integrated design, some bullet cameras will even have infrared LED future built-in. Infrared technology is simply LED light in infrared spectrum (not visible to human eye). This light will illuminate viewing area, making possible monitoring in complete darkness. This is great future, but it only works up to certain distance (usually between 10 and 50 ft. depending on model) Vary simple to install and estheticly designed, bullet cameras are great choice for residential and do-it-yourself installations where monitoring objects are within about 25ft from the camera location (with standard 3.6mm lens).

Board Cameras.

Board Cameras are basically fixed lens mounted on a circuit board. These cameras may be packaged in a small case (Mini Cameras) or dome (Mini Dome) or simply sold unpackaged, for mounting by the purchaser. Lenses in these are either of a normal industry aperture or a "pinhole" lens of very small aperture. Pinhole lens cameras are often called "spy" cameras and may be mounted in a concealed way for covert surveillance purposes. The most popular examples of covert board ones are smoke detector and motion detector cameras.

Since the lenses in board cameras are pre-mounted, have a fixed iris and are usually of a short focal length (i.e. wide angle), their flexibility of usefulness is limited. However, this type of camera can provide a low cost solution in the right situation, particularly in a home environment. We have shortly described most popular types of cameras, lets now discus, how and where they mite be used.

Professional types with C/CS mount lens attachment generally offer best performance and many important futures, like lens control output, Back Light Compensation and many more...

Distance from monitoring object to the camera is not an issue, that is why ability to select different lenses, based on location is so important. Installation is bit complicated and professional installation strongly recommended. We recommend this type of security cameras for commercial installations.

Most Bullet cameras in comparison, do not offer high resolution and lens selection flexibility, but are likely to be weatherproof, some will have infrared light built-in and most of all they are relatively easy to implement. They usually come with 3.6mm lens witch are considered to be suitable for most standard installations (good for covering small to medium size room or equivalent).

For larger rooms or longer distances, cameras with 6mm or higher lens may be required. They are great choice for any do-it-yourself installation.

Board cameras in contrast are widely used in covert camera installations, sometimes called Spy Cameras. Many are basically board ones with built-in transmitter. We are not going to go into wireless cameras right now, as this would be enough material for completely new article.

Board cameras are sold as plain circuit board, for integrating into hidden camera devices. They are also available in dome housing, as vary popular Dome Camera or integrated with Smoke Detector, Motion Detector, Exit Sign and so on. Most also come with 3.6mm lens although some will allow lens to be replaced.

Over the time, most practical design has been Dome Camera with its aesthetic appearance it blends into surroundings, especially with drop down sealing, great for use in stores, lobbies, gas stations and other public places. Practical solution for covert installation are also, Motion and Smoke Detector cameras, they are absolutely not substitute for your security alarm or fire protection. They should always be selected based on the location of the camera (inside/outside), distance from the monitoring object, light condition and budget.

When shopping for security cameras, customers are faced with the fact that they will need to select one or another recording device.

The days of well-known CCTV time-lapse VCR recorder are almost over.

Although some customers still prefer this old fashioned recording solution, it is well worth to invest some extra money to purchase a good quality digital video recorder (DVR). Digital recorder transfers analog camera video feed into digital format, and stores it on hard drive. There are two major types of digital recorders on the market right now.

PC Based Systems.

A special board and software installed on the computer will allow camera inputs and store video on the hard drive.

Many people are under the misconception that personal computer with additional hardware installed, will do the job. This explains the hundreds of companies that have hung up a sign, taken out some ads and begun working out of basements and garages, holding themselves out to be DVR manufacturers and security specialists. The main problem with this type of CCTV recorders lies in the main component of it... Yes, it is a computer, designed to do unlimited tasks, but non well. The truth is that any computer based digital video recorder is, and will always be vulnerable to software crashes, hang-ups, system instability, virus related problems etc...

Stand Alone Systems.

Very similar in appearance and control functions to standard VCR recorders, are truly remarkable devices. Most video processing is done by hardware, therefore eliminating system crashes, video is also stored on hard drive in digital format. The basic operating system, usually Linux, is permanently stored on special processor, witch is impossible to overwrite or corrupt. Designed and manufactured with single application in mind, it is by far better in performance and reliability to its PC based rival.

Some DVR systems will even have remote monitoring capability, useful when monitoring is required in different locations through Internet or network. Most important futures to look for when selecting the right DVR recorder are motion detection and frame speed. The higher the frame speed the more fluent video recording. Motion detection will allow recording video from each camera only when motion is detected; this is great for extending video recording time.

Security Monitors.

Video from Security recorder could be displayed on regular TV monitor. It is OK to do it this way, for baby monitoring or residential application, when quality of the picture is not that important. However for professional installation, security monitors are as much important as cameras. They offer extended life of picture tube (necessary with any static picture, that can cause picture burnout) and much grater resolution.

Cables and wiring.

Finally any camera installation will require proper wiring. Good quality cable will prevent video degradation over long distance runs. It is recommended to use RG59 or RG6 coaxial cables as it is fully shielded and will prevent video loss up to 400 ft. Coaxial cables will require BNC connectors and proper installation possibly done by experienced technician. In short runs plug and play non-coaxial cables with factory installed BNC connectors may be used (up to 150 ft.). The plug and play cables are easy enough to install by not experienced users.

Cables for CCTV cameras consist of two cables bundled in one jacket. One cable for video and one for power delivery.

Conclusion.

Every CCTV system is as good and reliable as its weakest component. With this in mind, investing on highest quality and performance cameras, while purchasing low performance recorder, from economical and practical standpoint just does not make sense.

For example, why use CCTV cameras with 500 TV lines of resolution with monitor that offers only 380 or less. All the benefit of high-resolution camera is affectively sacrificed by limited capability of monitor. Asking questions is important before purchasing video security system, and your vendor will probably be able to give more details and recommend equipment for specific needs and requirements.

Kundalini: Opening the Third Eye

I’ve received many emails about the Awakening Kundalini CD. And I thank everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences with me. There are also a lot of great questions coming in, which are an inspiration for me to write more on the subject. A recent inquiry came in about what happens when the third eye opens.

One of the most widespread misunderstandings about awakening Kundalini is that it awakens all at once, and that the Third Eye opens completely, and we will suddenly be flooded with psychic visions that might make us feel crazy and out of control.

Understanding Camera Lenses

It’s the same with the third eye, or any of the charkas for that matter. When the third eye opens, the mind is flooded with light, insights, and inspiration. This is a very common meditation experience. It can happen gradually over time, or quite suddenly. If the third eye opens wide and it’s sudden, it usually occurs for a period of time, and then re-calibrates to a new aperture setting that is more open than before, but not wide open continuously.

When we fall in love. The heart chakra opens wide. Love pours in and gushes out. The world is ripe with possibility and charged with electricity. And then our hearts settle down and get comfortable with the relationship. I’m reminded of the Zen saying, “First enlightenment. Then the laundry.” Some people complain of boredom when all the excitement subsides. This grievance applies to both people who have had dramatic Kundalini experiences and to those who are hooked on the thrill of new love, but grow weary of working to keep a relationship vital.

Beginning meditators report all kinds of phenomenon, which aren’t really phenomenon, but rather the first opening of the inner senses: Visions, profound feelings, the smelling of scents that are not physically present, etcetera. Kundalini awakens through meditation, whether you put that name on it or not. When the mind is still, Kundalini can rise.

My first significant Kundalini experience happened quite early on in my meditation practice. I experienced it as a sudden blast of golden light that exploded in my head and then cascaded through my whole body. The aperture opened wide. My brain opened up to knowledge that seemed to reside outside the borders of my conscious mind. My heart opened and I felt the presence of God. I even heard a voice that was not my own. In that brief moment, perhaps 10 minutes, perhaps 20, I don’t know, the shutter opened and I received a vision that irrevocably changed my life. When I told my meditation teacher about the event, she smiled and called it an “illumination.” She gave me the impression that this is normal and that one mustn’t get overly identified or attached to the experience.

The bliss, the excitement, the love, the new knowledge and inspiration continued on for weeks. But then, as I acted on the guidance, the energy evened out. Another way of saying it is—It became familiar. This is how Kundalini awakenings can be. At first, utterly amazing; and then the body re-adjusts and it doesn’t seem so earthshaking.

Some accounts of Kundalini experience are profoundly moving and others sound like psychotic episodes. The scary accounts I believe are to be taken with a grain of salt. Kundalini experiences are subjective. It’s all in the interpretation. If your third eye opens and you suddenly know things that you didn’t know before, or see things that you couldn’t see before it could seem frightening, especially if you have no context for it. My gut reaction to the people who write about the terrors of Kundalini, is that they are working through their fears of powerlessness and victimization. If they owned their part in the process and did not blame it on Kundalini, they would tell quite a different story.

Kundalini pushes fears and egoic structures to the surface to be released. If you don’t want to let go of these, then it’s probably best not to practice Kundalini meditation. Granted, some Kundalini experiences can be unsettling, but these episodes rarely last long. A woman in my meditation class had a few weeks of involuntary undulating that happened when she meditated and even sometimes when she slept, which woke her up. When I say undulating, it’s not that her body was writhing, but the energy inside her was. It was intense, and she was unable to stop it. Whenever it happened her heart would race with fear. Gradually as she accepted this process as releasing old fears and simply observed and allowed it, the undulating energy smoothed out and became pleasurable. Since then she has less fear about everything in her life and is stepping out into the world in a way she wasn’t able to before.

In answer to the question, “Will I see ghosts or spirits? How can I prevent this?” If it is important for you to communicate with “the other side” and that is part of your path in life then, perhaps, when Kundalini awakens you might have the experience of “seeing spirits” or hearing them or communicating with them. You might discover newfound psychic abilities, which you can then use to help other people. Many of the psychics and shamans I know have shared that if they didn’t use their gifts to help other people, it would drive them mad.

We each have our own unique purpose in life, and Kundalini is the carrier that transports that knowledge to our consciousness. Kundalini awakenings are not random, but rather they are an affirmation of an immensely powerful intelligence at work.

I want to underscore the importance of being open to any kind of experience as Kundalini awakens. If you have fears or resistance about how or when Kundalini will awaken, then it’s important to face those fears and get to a place inside where you’re not anxious. In the end it’s a matter of faith. Having faith in the process, having faith in the wisdom and guidance that comes to you. And believing that the universe is a safe place for you to expand, grow and learn.

Here are 12 ideas to get your creative juices flowing and increase your skills and value as a photographer.

TIP 1 - Time Lapse photos. I showed my niece how to do this with clay figures and stitch the resulting frames together into a video file, and she was busy for days. If you control the exposure consistently to keep the images consistent with one another, you can do some really fun stop-motion animation. Or, you can set up your camera to capture other slow motion effects such as flowers opening and seedlings growing.

TIP 3 - Astrophotography. Hook that SLR up to a telescope, and you are ready to peer into the depths of space and time. You'll need some adapters, and ability to compensate for the earth's rotation for really long shots. Start with the moon and move on from there.

TIP 4 - Macro photography. From flowers to coins to stamps, you can polish your skills at close-up photography and capture some really detailed images. Often a macro lens or close-up attachment will help. See my tips on Flower Photography to get more information.

TIP 5 - Micro photography. If you can interface that camera with a microscope, you can get some really crazy images. Or, stack up a bunch of close-up magnification and try your hand at turning salt crystals into surreal imagery.

TIP 6 - Insurance Photos. OK, maybe a bit boring, but you and your friends and relatives will thank you. Take a couple hours and touch and photograph everything of value, with a full shot or two if each item of value, accompanied by a shot of the identifying marks - manufacturer model or serial number. Then burn a CD or DVD and store it off site. If you have a fire or other loss, this could save the owner thousands of dollars.

TIP 7 - Family Recipe book. Anytime those family favorites are prepared, copy down the recipe and take some photos of the food. You can produce a printed or electronic cookbook of family favorites that everyone will love.

TIP 8 - Stock Photography. This is a very busy market niche, but the cost of entry is low. Specialize in things you love, and you may be able to generate some income from your stock images. Search for stock photography sites, and make sure you understand your rights before you post images.

TIP 9 - Special Effects. Maybe you want to specialize in high-speed images of athletes, or surrealistic collages. Try your hand at using your editing skills to put someone in a soda bottle or floating on a candy lifesaver. Often more artistic than photographic, it will test your composition, lighting and editing skills to come up with believable artificial realities.

TIP 10 - Still Life. Ahh, the bowl of fruit. Sometimes a simple object or collection, properly lit, shot and edited, is a thing of beauty. It's a great way to study light. Start with an egg on a light background, a lamp and a window and see how you can learn about lighting and composition.

TIP 11 - Computer Control. Many cameras have a USB interface and remote control software. You can actually control the camera from the computer. See if you can get it to work to your liking, and maybe even program some time lapse or exposure bracketing experiments.

TIP 12 - Be Like Andy. Take some images of everyday items and try to create those neat colored backgrounds like Andy Warhol used to make. Create a 4-up print of the same image and change the colors of each quadrant to make an interesting square print.
